The next hearing of Sandeep Lamichhane’s ongoing case has been scheduled for Bhadra 26. Judge Sakuntala Karki who heard the arguments today, asked for additional records of birth and migration of complainant Gaushala 26.
The lawyers of the plaintiff side of the case argued all day today. It was not possible for the arguments of the defense counsel to be held today.
At the end of the hearing, the lawyer of the defendant, Saroj Ghimire, insisted that the dispute over the date of birth of Gaushala 26 should be put to rest.
He requested the judge to look at the old address of the Gaushala 26 from the relevant ward of (then) Shankarapur VDC of Kathmandu, to get the date of birth and migration records.
Earlier, the court had asked for the documents from Tadi Rural Municipality of Nuwakot, which is the present address of Gaushala 26. The details mentioned in those documents were contradictory. Not only Gaushala’s 26 but also her mother’s date of birth is different.
Sandeep’s lawyer has suggested that the Shankarapur’s VDC respective ward should be searched as Gaushala 26’s real date of birth may be there. Accepting that argument, Judge Karki has ordered accordingly.
