Paras Khadka, the former captain of the Nepali national cricket team, has been elected as the president of the Can Bagmati province of the Nepal Cricket Association.
In today’s election in Lalitpur, Paras defeated his nearest competitor Umesh Piya with a margin of 9 votes. Paras got 23 votes while Umesh got only 14 votes among 37 representatives.
Prem Bahadur Chhetri was elected as Vice President with 23 votes, Rupak Ranjith was the closest competitor with 14 votes. Similarly, Prashanna Shakya was elected secretary with 23 votes, Prajwal Sapkota became the closest competitor with 14 votes. Similarly, Sanjay Basnet won with 23 votes while Vijay Bohora got 14 votes.
Similarly, the election was held for 12 other women members except Nira Rajopadhyay.
Ajaybir Pandey, Anil Adhikari, Sanjog Shrestha, Sujan Maharjan, Dheeraj Shrestha, Shekhar Shrestha and Basantaraj Satyal were elected by getting 23 votes each. Similarly, while Anujman Shrestha who was defeated got 16 votes, Arjun KC, Suraj Gyawali, Dhruv Sharma, Karan Khatiwada, Suraj Silwal, Ramdhan Dhakal and Paras Adhikari got only 14 votes each.
Elections of all the provinces for the Central Convention scheduled for Ashoj 5th and 6th in Kathmandu have been completed.
