The legal proceedings in the case against Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepali cricket team, are nearing their conclusion, with the final hearing scheduled for Ashoj 1.
Sarojkrishna Ghimire, Lamichhane’s lawyer, confirmed that the upcoming hearing would focus on reaching a verdict in the case, following the arrival of crucial documents related to the alleged victim’s birth date and migration history. Alleged Victim, Gaushala 26, had relocated from Shankharapur VDC of Kathmandu to Tandi Rural Municipality of Nuwakot, prompting the need to retrieve migration records and her date of birth from her previous address in the then Shankarapur VDC of Kathmandu.
This legal battle, initiated on 2079 Kartik 14, has seen 26 scheduled hearings without a final resolution. However, with all the necessary documents now submitted, the next hearing holds the promise of bringing this lengthy case to a close.
The cricket community, as well as the general public, eagerly awaits the outcome of this legal saga, which has captured significant attention due to Lamichhane’s prominent status in Nepali cricket.
